Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad...is Yummy :)

Is anyone in the mood for what I call 'Girl Food'??

Every so often I have a craving for some yummy food that most guys just don't dig like girls do. This recipe is one of those dishes. Another one is Chicken Croissant Sandwiches, filled with all the extras... but that's for another day ;)!! Today it's a Yummy Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad!

*Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad*

1 1/2 lb. Broccoli
1 1/2 lb. Cauliflower
1 C. Raisins
1 C. Sunflower Seeds (unsalted)
1 C. Cashews (salted)
1 small onion - grated
1-2 Tbs. Bacon Bits
Mix, then toss with

1 C. Mayonnaise
1/4 C. Sugar
2 Tbs. Vinegar
Refrigerate until ready to serve :)

Tied Heart Cake... Made w/LoVe!

Our cute little growing up Savannah has became quite the baker/chef this summer. She has created a few fun creative dishes and this 'Chocolate Tiered Cake w/cream cheese frosting" has been one of the neat items! She even went so far as punching out a variety of different sized hearts to layer and Walaah... A Beautiful Yummy Cake :)!!

School is in Session :)

Today was filled with excitement..
The new clothes & shoes got put on and the hairdos were done. Backpacks were filled with brand-spankin' new, never been sharpened 'Cool' pencils! And... off we headed to meet the new teachers, with butterflies in our stomachs and grins on our faces!! :)

Sierra has quite the busy schedule with early-morning practices, games, studies, a social life & everything else that a teenager does!

Savannah was excited and anxious for the new year.. wondering what the new challenges her teacher would present!

Sicily mentioned how she was excited to wear her new clothes.. just not so thrilled about the homework ;), but came home with a big smile when she talked about how she finished all the questions on her math test!

Scottland (not pictured until later), has to wait until next week to start Kindergarten, because they have their assessment appointments this week... bummer :( It is sooooo hard for her. She is extremely ecstatic about getting started.... Please hurry up next week!!

Sophie (also not pictured yet...) will finally get some alone time with Mom.. YEAH!! We will get a few hours a day to play & learn... & I'm sure she will help me clean ;)!

Sydnee & Samantha (neither pictured either... until they approve of a pic ;)!) With Sydnee off to college & Samantha starting her new career, are pretty busy these days, so I will give you updates here and there.. if they stick around long enough for me to get some fun stories!

Do you think that there's a slight possibility that the house may stay picked up for maybe a few hours now???
(At least until everyone comes home and drops their shoes & backpacks wherever they fill the need :0!!)

Fun in the Sun @ Toquer Creek & R.I.P... little friends :(

A week ago (yea, I'm really on top of blogging things! haha), we went to Toquer Creek and the kids played in the creek with a bunch of cousins! (This is one of the many joys of living close to family :)!

And sadly... the poor little tadpoles didn't survive too long and while I was out back a few days later, I noticed the unfortunate graveyard. :(

Paper, glitter & tiny scriptures...on lazy Summer mornings :)

I love lazy summer mornings! No immediate rush to get to the next activity or appointment. Mind you... I do like having a schedule most of the time, but especially in the summer 'not much of one' is my ideal choice!

Have you ever met a child, or adult, for that matter.. That doesn't enjoy drawing pictures with Elmer's glue and sprinkling glitter over it. Then after it is dry, admiring your masterpiece, as it glitters in the light :)!

(On a side note - I think that the tiny scriptures(the maroon little book on the table)are some of the cutest little things... Next to my kids of course!! My kids take the Cake ;)!)
